This was a year like no other, we reacted, we adjusted, and we showed compassion, empathy, resilience and delivery. 1 am delighted to share with you, this message, summarizing Caritas Freetown’s performance, preparedness, and our response to disasters, beneficiaries of our implemented projects, as well as handling of donor funds. This year has been eventful, to say the least.

Although confronted with unprecedented human and economic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic which has left a terrible scar on donor support, Caritas always finds a way to persevere. We do it by constantly challenging the status quo and striving for even greater levels of excellence and made sure we continued to deliver top-quality services to our beneficiaries regardless.

We are a true people of love and we are delighted to have served our clientele throughout the year. From disaster Victims, visually impaired persons, special schools, sick people, pregnant women, malnourished children, and those affected by extreme poverty we have touched their lives in many ways.

The year 2022 saw us handling many complex Issues with little resources from our core partners as the Coronavirus increased financial burdens and reduced global support to those countries and communities in need.

Caritas Freetown continued to maintain the highest standards in service to humanity, to enable our numerous volunteers and staff to undergo training on crucial skill-building to improve project delivery.

The year is coming to an end with so much fulfillment and joy as we feel gratified for all the successes, smiles, and laughter that we have shared with our beneficiaries.

I would like to thank our management team for their relentless pursuit of excellence throughout the last financial year and their unmatched guidance through the real test of character throughout the recent adversity. I am also grateful for the support and stewardship that the Board members of Caritas Freetown have provided through the past year.

We have the talent, the vision, and the conviction. Together, let’s use them to continue building a rewarding future and save humanity.
