Caritas Freetown proudly participated in this year’s Peace Walk, organized by the Independent Commission for Peace and National Cohesion – Sierra Leone.
The walk formed part of a series of activities marking International Peace Day, a moment dedicated to reflecting on the importance of peace in building a united and stable nation. Themed “Leh We Do Somtin Now-Now for Salone E Kolat Wan”, the event brought together government representatives, organizations, volunteers, and community members who marched side by side in solidarity for peace.
More than just a walk, the event served as a reminder of every citizen’s role in fostering peace and harmony within society. It was also a call to action, encouraging Sierra Leoneans to stay active, live healthier lives, and embrace the positive impact that comes from a peaceful environment.
